Bird of Paradise with frost and freeze damage. Taken January 14, 2010 about 1 week after a hard freeze and several nights of frost. Most of the large leafs are severely damaged and will need to be removed. New fronds will emerge from the top of the stalk. All of the stalks survived. This is a good time to remove any stems that have gotten to be too tall for the landscaped area. Saw the entire stem off at the base and allow for a new stem to have room to emerge.
